“Planting trees is a part of yoga, too.”— PARAMGURU SHARATH JOIS
Yoga and Sustainability are interconnected.

When you hear the word yoga, what are the first images that come to mind?
Lately, it seems yoga has only become synonymous with the physical practice ( postures ), known as the asana. This is only one aspect of yoga.
'Yoga' means union. The ancient yogic texts like the Yoga Sutras and the Bhagavad Gita, teach us that there's much more to yoga than the asana.

The Yoga Sutras, written around two thousand years ago explains that yoga as eight "limbs" or steps (Ashtanga means eight limbs in Sanskrit).
The first two limbs are the Yamas and Niyamas - ethical and personal guidelines for living.
These guidelines not only teach us what to do on our mats but how to live a mindful lifestyle and connect to the world around us.
The yogic system of thought encourages balance and deepens environmental consciousness, encouraging us to treat everything with love and compassion.
